Even accurate inputs cannot capture every condition that affects a real installation. Walls may be out of square, floors may include hidden changes, corners may not be straight and finished dimensions may differ from framing measurements.
The basic calculation divides tiled area by tile coverage, adds waste and rounds up. That method is useful for planning, but it does not create a cutting diagram for every surface. Two showers with the same square footage can require different quantities because one contains niches, benches, plumbing penetrations or a complex pattern.
